A protagonist is a main character or the important character in a movie. While antagonist is the character that is in the opposition to the protagonist. In the movie â€Å"Now You See Me†, the protagonists are Daniel Atlas, Merritt McKinney, Henley Reese, Jack Wilder, Dylan Rhodes and Alma Dray. Thaddeus Bradley and Arthur Tressler are the antagonists. A famous American actor Morgan Freeman plays the role Thaddeus Bradley in â€Å"Now You See Me†, a former magician then a proficient magic debunker who made money by revealing the magic tricks done in the movie. He is actually very desperate for being invited to â€Å"The Eye† but he wasn’t because of what he did to Lionel Shrike, father of Dylan Rhodes. Dylan Rhodes as the FBI agent and also the mastermind of the vengeance is played by Mark Ruffalo. As a FBI agent, Dylan has a bad temper and always against the Four Horsemen because he believes that they are just bandits and entertainers. The actor of Daniel Atlas, one of the Four Horsemen is Jesse Eisenberg. He is a very cocky street magician and he seems like the leader of the Four Horsemen because he did most of the talking and can be considered the best in performing magic among the Four Horsemen. The other Horseman, Jack Wilder is played by the actor Dave Franco. From my opinion, he seems like he is at the bottom in the Four Horsemen because he has the least scene compared to the other Horsemen and his skills is not as good as Daniel Atlas although they are both street magicians. But he is very good at imitating people’s voices and unlocking as what he said in the movie, â€Å"nothing’s ever locked. † There is a French character Alma Dray, played by Melanie Laurent, as an Interpol agent who involves in investigating the case with Dylan Rhodes. Alma Dray is a female agent believing in faith all the time while she is working. She is also very interested in magic as in the movie she likes to learn new magic. I believe that the director and writer are leading audiences to believe that Alma is the mastermind behind the plan because they are convincing us by making her being suspected in the movie. At the end of the movie, Alma Dray is in love with Dylan Rhodes. The four main characters in â€Å"Now You See Me† are the Four Horsemen, Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reese (Isla Fisher) and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco). After all, â€Å"Now You See Me† is a good film to watch with many different types of characters. There are protagonists doing bad things but they are the most likeable characters to audiences. I find it hard to define whether Mark Ruffalo’s character, Dylan Rhodes is protagonist or antagonist because he is against the protagonists all the time but at the twisted ending, he showed up to be the protagonist. I like the supporting characters in the movie, Thaddeus Bradley, Arthur Tressler and Alma Dray. Although they are not the main characters, their characteristics just caught my attention more than the four main characters.
